Georgian Colors

In partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation®, Valspar® is proud to offer a palette of over 250 colors documented from historic places across the country and representing American colors from a variety of periods and styles.

The Georgian palette features a broad range of gray, blue and peach pastel colors. They are accented with deep, rich colors such as gold, burgundy and navy referencing the regal British style of the time.

Georgian Colors

Cliveden Located in the Germantown neighborhood of Northwest Philadelphia, Cliveden sheltered British troops from George Washington’s army during the Battle of Germantown in 1777.

The first true American architectural style, Georgian got its name because it flourished during the reign of King George (approx 1740-1790). The styles features classical themes from the Renaissance, rectangular shapes and symmetrical façades, and hipped roofs or low-pitched gables. The front doors of Georgian homes are often framed by decorative woodwork, transom windows, or triangular pediments supported by columns or pilasters.
