NATIONAL TRUST HISTORIC COLORS

Southwestern Colors

In partnership with the National Trust for Historic Preservation®, Valspar® is proud to offer a palette of over 250 colors documented from historic places across the country and representing American colors from a variety of periods and styles.

The Southwestern palette is inspired by the materials and landscape of the region. It boasts rich adobe and terra cotta reds, sage greens, sandy neutrals and bright pops of orange, yellow, and turquoise.

Southwestern Colors

Also known as Mission Style and Spanish Colonial.

La Fonda Hotel A beloved landmark on the historic Plaza in Santa Fe, NM, La Fonda has been a famous gathering spot since 1922.

Distinctive Southwestern architecture can be seen from Texas all the way to Southern California. It includes Mission, Spanish Colonial and Mediterranean style structures, which are popular in warm, and often dry, climates. Mediterranean architecture features stucco walls, tiled roofs, and arched doorways; windows are also among the most recognizable elements of Mediterranean homes and buildings.
