Valspar Ultra Paint + Primer with zero VOC 2.6 5 9 9
egg shell looks iridescent! The egg shell paint I got looks shiny - almost iridescent. So disappointing. I really like the color, but unfortunately the color swatch looks different than what my walls look like after 2 coats (one coat was not even close to adequate!). We went through 2 1/3 can for a 425 sq. ft. room! There's almost a glossy shine to this paint. $100 later I'm left debating if I should repaint... June 16, 2013
This product is very efficient. This paint is amazing and i would definitly recomend this paint to the rest of my family and friends .. I am very pleased. May 28, 2013
Don't waste your money!! I painted several windows and door frames with this paint in gloss white. I primed with an oil based primer to make sure I had adhesion with the top coat. This paint is too thick and it proved impossible to even cover the white primer adequately with one coat. Additionally, the brush strokes do not flatten out and the gloss finish is terrible. I had to sand the first coat prior to applying a second coat and that coat is full of brush strokes as well. This is the worst paint. Do not waste your money or your time with this junk. May 23, 2013
Yes its good My husband picked up this product and we got home used it, let it dry and I wanted to really see if it was stain resistant and scrubbable as claimed, My verdict- Yes its good!!! April 22, 2013
Terrible paint, just flakes off Used this paint for wooden kitchen doors, they came professionally sanded and primed. The richness of the final paint colour was excellent (although Valspar's overall range of colour is very limited -they are generally the same colours with different names), but coverage was very poor and needed a lot of paint to get the final colour. But worst of all, the paint chips off quite easily - spend my entire time touching up and praying no one knocks against my doors. I was so concerned I looked online to see if I had done anything wrong, and noticed a lot of other reviewers who had this problem in a variety of situations. Then again there are also a lot who love this paint. It seems to be pot luck whether you'll get a good result or a terrible one with Valspar... :-( March 30, 2013
Fabulous colour, disappointing cover I bought this for a mirror stand in "sensual jade" - we have a Moroccan inspired bedroom and this, with a gold rope edging, looks superb. But I had to paint three coats to completely cover the base. We then thought it would be great on a couple of tired picture frames. Again, a single coat was nowhere near enough. Luckily we had plenty of paint. The colour's perfect, the finish is wonderful, but it really shouldn't have needed three coats. In UK there was an advert "It does what it says on the tin". This says one coat - it DOESN'T do what it says on the tin. January 27, 2013
Nothing but headache I would like to make the distinction between Valspar's new paint which includes primer verses their old ultra premium latex paint, which, unfortunately they do not make anymore. Their old paint I loved, I renovated my entire house with this paint. The new stuff, Valspar ultra paint plus primer zero VOC is terrible. It is too thick and coverage is only fair. It still needs at least two coats. I am repainting my cabinet doors and the paint streaks don't melt into the paint like their older stuff. Now, I have to re-sand them again. Also, you cannot use it on plaster or oil based paint without priming it first with a true primer. I was under the false impression that I could and sure enough the paint just peeled right off. Worst Satin Finish Paint I've Ever Used I used this paint previously in a flat finish and it was fantastic, however, my purchase of the satin finish was a nightmare! The paint rolls on nicely but when I would go over that stroke while painting then it would glob up and looked like I was trying to sponge paint the wall. A job that shouldn't have taken me an hour took 6 hours because I had to roll in even stokes from top to bottom and wait for it to dry before I could go over it again. There was no way to paint in a "w" pattern with this paint! January 22, 2013
