Exterior Stucco
- Prepare the surface by removing any efflorescence (i.e., deposits of white crystals that sometimes leach from various alkaline substrates when moisture is present). Use a wire brush.
- Fill any cracks or holes with siliconized caulk.
- Clean the surface of any dirt, dust, chalk or mildew.
- Prime the surface with a top-quality, acrylic latex primer.
- Once the primer has dried, paint the stucco surface with a premium-quality, 100% acrylic latex house paint with the desired color and sheen (e.g., flat or semi-gloss finish). Valspar offers a high-performance tintable primer that is ideal for these surfaces and your unique requirements.
