Here's another really simple yet effective way of brightening your living space without breaking the bank. Wicker baskets come in many styles and sizes and are perfect for storage anywhere in the house—for tidying up children's rooms, the living room or even in the hallway.

Baskets are particularly useful in the kitchen for keeping your fresh fruit or vegetables on hand. You can choose to either coordinate your baskets with your kitchen's color scheme or make a bold statement with a bright color. Both are quick and easy with Valspar spray paints, and you'll soon have a convenient way of remembering to eat your five a day.

Step-by-Step Guide

1: Once you have selected your baskets, find a well ventilated open space and put down plenty of newspaper to protect the surrounding area.

2: Apply Valspar Spray Paint in short even coats. This may take a little while but the finish will be better.

3: You'll need to gradually work your way around the basket double checking to see that you've reached all nooks and crannies.

4: Allow 30 minutes for the outside of the basket to dry then move on to the inside. Remember to apply short, even coats. Again, leave to dry for 30 minutes then move on to the underside.

5: Your attractive new baskets will be ready after 40 minutes. Simply fill them with plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables and display.
