Zone Marking Paint is an acrylic water-based paint for traffic or zone marking areas. This safe, easy to use flat formula dries quickly without discoloration from asphalt bleeding. Free from lead and mercury hazards.

HOW TO USE

  • Usage
    Recommended for use on new or old concrete, asphalt, parking lots, warehouse floors, streets, playgrounds, and other areas where zone markings are required.
  • Prep
    General: Take meticulous care to clean off dirt, grease, oil or other contaminants. If necessary, use TSP (or substitute) solution or commercial degreasing products to remove all oil and grease stains from surface. Remove loose and peeling paint. New asphalt: Cure a minimum of 48 hours. Asphalt sealers must age 7 days before using this product. New concrete: Cure at least 30 days before painting. Old unpainted concrete/asphalt: Clean unpainted surfaces thoroughly, following the general instructions above. Painted or stained concrete/asphalt: Remove all loose or peeling stain and paint. Dull glossy paint. Clean surface per general instructions. Wet surface note: On inclined surfaces, stairs and large painted areas subjected to pedestrian foot traffic, add an anti-slip agent at a level of 1 pound per gallon.
  • Application
    Use paint paddle or mixing blade to stir paint thoroughly, bringing pigments to the top of the can. To ensure uniform color, intermix all cans of the same color. Brush: Use a high quality polyester or natural bristle brush. Roller: Use a high quality polyester roller with 3/8 to 1/2 inch nap. Striping Machine: Use with all types of line striping equipment. Glass Beads: Glass beads may be applied immediately to wet paint to create reflective marking. Use gravity flow equipment to dispense, or hand broadcast glass beads at a rate of 6 lbs. per gallon of paint. Clean up tools and equipment with warm soapy water immediately after application. Do not thin.
